Cal football star Marshawn Lynch has been accused of sexual assault and domestic violence. An Alameda County District Attorney is currently reviewing the claims against Lynch. The accuser, a former girlfriend, has successfully obtained a restraing order as of Friday morning.

She claims that on December 13th, Lynch choked, slapped and sexually assaulted her. She filed a civil complaint on December 19th. Lynch’s lawyer denies her allegations, but admits that his client was indeed at the woman’s home that night.

These allegations are serious, but it’s unclear how far the woman’s case against Lynch could go. Nobody’s talking much at this point, so the credibility of the claims is up the air, leaving football message boards to fill the void with inappropriate comments. One half-intelligible commenter (and his buddy) said:

does anybody ever believe these bitches when they accuse a dude who’s about to make it of sexual assault? a dude who could most likely get ass anywhere he goes is gonna be on some “smack a bitch up for *beep*” shit right before he’s about to make it big? fuckouttahere.

Agreed…greedy ass people gonna ruin some kid’s life. I don’t know if he did or not…but if he didn’t this bitch better go to hell!

Although the former girlfriend filed her claims before Lynch announced his NFL plans, many of the fans on the forums seem eager to claim that the former girlfriend is out for money. Sorry, but the timing’s a little off.

  1. How can the timing be off?

It’s be known for ***THREE YEARS*** that Marshawn was going to declare for the draft in 2007.

  2. Dear Christine:
stop trying to cover anything football related. Whether it’s regarding the stadium renovation or predicting the NFL draft you just don’t seem to get it. The next time there’s a sex party at Cal, maybe you can cover that. Sorry if this seems harsh, but you’ve left me with few other options.

Yes, let’s continue admitting borderline academic candidates with questionable extracurriculars…

  5. You don’t understand sports, so stop covering them.

  6. UPDATE: Calfootballfan.com is reporting that the charges have been dropped. the DA isnt going after the case. there inconsistencies, no evidence of injury, and a witness disputing the account. Marshawn is basically exonerated.

  7. I don’t think there were any charges to drop in the first place.

  10. it’s been clear for quite some time that Marshawn would go pro after this season. that was common knowledge long before december 13.
