BART’s Gone All Dry

BART has banned all alcohol advertisements in a 7-2 vote of its directors. Community groups were concerned that the ads would encourage youths to drink. Three months before this decision, BART’s directors had approved alcohol advertising (albeit limited). BART will lose about $400,000 in revenue from the advertisement ban.

I’m pretty sure that BART itself encourages youths to drink. Having to sit next to a crazy 50-year-old lady drawl, “Shit! God damn muthafuckas. Richmond? No one goes to Richmond” (and 20 times over) will lead you straight to the bottle. Any public transportation will, I’m sure of it.

  1. Yeah, that makes sense. Because only youth ride the BART, and the BART is their only exposure to… society?
