Bears Lumberjacks for a Day - Victory over Stanfurd, 26-17

Yesterday Cal beat Stanfurd in the Big Game, 26-17. This is the fifth-straight year the Bears have retained the axe, though it’s uncertain if they actually earned that honor. What should have been a quick and easy victory became a slow and lazy struggle (at least in the first half).

The Bears end their season 9-3 (7-2 Pac-10), undefeated at home. And, hey, guess what else? With U$C’s loss to UCLA yesterday, the Bears now share the Pac-10 conference championship with the Trojans. It’s be over thirty years (1975 being the latest memory) since Cal has dominated the conference. Awesome.

Cal has also accepted a bid to play in the Holiday Bowl against Texas A&M. The Bowl will be held at 5 p.m. on December 28th in San Diego. You can buy your tickets now, starting at 65 big ones. Or you can be cheap and just catch the game on ESPN. That’ll be me.

For more on the game, go to the official Cal football site. I seriously can’t write about football. Sorry, I suck (but I make up for it in better ways).

  1. are you going to get your domain name back, or are you going to let someone turn www.calstuff.com into a porn site? actually, that would probably be an improvement over the current carp here. I bet Kevin is rolling over in his grave with the way CalStuff has deteriorated since he left..

  2. Now that loss to Az really hurts. Cost us a trip to the Rose Bowl and the outright Pac-10 title. Ouch.
