Stanfurd Band Banned from Opening Game

A couple months ago we had a post about the Stanfurd band vandalizing the Stanfurd Barn.

In reaction, the Stanfurd administration had banned the band from participating in football games, at least until the end of the month. This will mean that the school’s opening home game will be greeted with silence. But it’s not like they’re going to win anyway.

  1. Silence is immeasurably better than the sounds coming out of the instruments of those douchebags. The ears of many fans will be spared…at least till the end of the month.

  2. I hope you all will remember that this is not the first time that the stanfurd band has been banned. Notre Dame banned them from from their campus after they offended Irish people and Catholics in a 1991 halftime show.

  9. Also of note, and of specific interest to Cal football ticket holders, the Stanford band will not be able to travel to any events for the whole year (separate from events on the Stanford campus which the suspension is only for the month of September). Since the Big Game is at Berkeley… at least the way I read it… that means we won’t be subjected to their halftime “show”.

  10. I’ve seen that awful halftime “show” three times too many times. It consists of poorly played “songs”, the embracing of canada and their cheerleaders worse Stalinist sicle and hammer capes one year. Simply awful.
