HELLO REAL WORLD! : A Student\'s Approach to Great Internships Co-ops and Entry Level PositionsFormer UC Berkeley student Jengyee Liang sent us a copy of her book, Hello Real World!, a book about internships, externships, and other temporary job training programs offered to students. In it, she dispenses advice for these kinds of jobs and how to maximize their utility. Some of the book is useful, namely how to ask for feedback from your boss. However, the other chapters of the book include information that can be found in Career Center books and around the Internet at no cost. The author’s writing style is also far too personal as well, describing Liang’s own experiences in too great a detail and worse, the book doesn’t include any one elses’ opinions. If Hello Real World! was a free book or a set of blog entries, it may be worth reading. Unfortunately, selling this book makes it not worth the cost.
