Ride the Philanthro-Taxi
Instead of spending the whole summer being destructive, I decided to have a philanthropy event. If you are on campus until five today, for a small donation to charity, the Philanthropy Taxi will take you you anywhere you want to go. The suggested donation is 3 dollars, but any donation will get you a ride. I ate the rental costs of the golf cart, so 100% of donations go to philanthropy. The charitable cause is AEPi’s International Philanthropy for the year, Ethiopian cultural centers in Israel. You can read more information about them here.
P.S. If you have my number, you’re welcome to call to arrange a pick-up.
P.P.S. Let’s pretend I don’t look like crap in that picture, ok? I was in an MRI tube for an hour, so I look a little disheveled.

Nice. I’ll flag if I’m around. What’d the rental cost?
BTW, good to see Calstuff going strong, especially during a summer.

That is a great idea! I am so proud of you guys. Where on earth did you rent a golf cart from, Tilden? How are you keeping it charged?

i see what this is — the beginning of SQUELCH’s campaign against authoritarian oppression. good luck and be careful, i bet SA has rented a humvee that can crush your golf cart

I hope you got more donations than the rental cost of the golf cart, or else you would have been better off donating whatever it cost you. (That’s the CEO in me speaking.)

um, you mean the charity would be better off. you might consider the possibility that it could be fun to drive around campus in a golf cart and meet people.

Hey, just thought of something. You might need a special permit to be driving that around on Campus. Have you gotten the authoritative/beauracratic go-ahead?

hey, that’s a good point, mano. is driving aroud campus in a golf cart a good way to meet girls? i have a surprisingly difficult time meeting girls. maybe i should get a golf cart too.

chet: maybe if you weren’t such a lame feeding tube, youd probably have better luck with the ladies. but a golf cart can’t hurt.
ian: i think you need a special permit to be such a goddamn dweeb.

oh, admit it, you love me.
Comment by chet (CEO) — June 29, 2006 @ 4:45 pm
well then just shack up with mano and you won’t need the golfcart to meet girls

What were they scanning you in the MRI for?
I once volunteered for a psychology department synesthesia experiment where they looked at the colors I saw when flashing various letters and numbers, and which areas of my brain were activated. My twin sister has the same brainwave patterns. 5 is red.

I was doing a memory study for the psych department. Result: I have extremely good short term memory.

No, the Philanthro-Taxi is not a good way to pick up girls. Just ask Ben, or the flocks of girls who ran away when he pulled along side them and asked, “Hey, wanna ride?” like some creepy ice cream truck man.

Andy, how long are you doing this for? And how expansive of a radius will you drive? I need a ride home tonight..
