Lynch Shot At - Victim of Mistaken Identity

Cal star running back Marshawn Lynch was nearly made a lethal victim of mistaken identity on Wednesday when his car was targeted in a drive-by shooting. Lynch had returned to his home high school in Oakland Tech to attend the graduation of his little sister.

My source on the football team said that the perpetrators called Lynch’s mom when they discovered their mistake, and informed her that her son’s life was not in danger. I can only imagine the conversation went something like this.

Mrs. Lynch: Hello?
Drive-by Guy: Yeah, uh, is this Marshawn’s mom?
M: Yes, what can I do for you?
D: Well, this is a little awkward. See, I… kinda shot at your son last night. But I didn’t mean to, I swear.
M: I… see.
D: Yeah, and, uh, I got no beef with Marshawn, and I thought he was this other guy I still gotta shoot.
M: Okay…
D: So, yeah… don’t worry, we’re not trying to kill your son on purpose. You know, this conversation isn’t as awkward as I thought.
M: (faints)
D: Hello?

This leaves me with the question of the day: how do you feel if you have the same car as Marshawn Lynch?

  2. The shooting acutally happened on Wednesday, not last week.

It was the lead story of Wed’s KTVU 10 o’clock news.

  3. I hope his means of transportation doesn’t resemble mine either– white guy walking down the sidewalk.

  4. Um, sorry. But the phone call to Marshawn’s mom story is total BS.

Forget your sources — ask the man himself. He laughed so hard when he heard what you had publised.
