Question from the Judicial Council in a written affidavit: “Did you ever instruct anyone to use hairspray while chalking?”

Suken Vakil’s answer: “I’m not exactly sure what the hairspray would be used for (making the chalk more sticky, glossiness?) but I have never purchased, instructed anyone to purchase, or instructed anyone to use hairspray ever for chalk throughout my four years at Cal.”

  2. The decision should be released sometime either tomorrow or the day after, according to JCouncil members.

  3. I remember when I DIDNT use hairspray and the damn chalk blew away/got stepped on the next day. Needless to say, others may have used it but I didn’t.

  5. Apparently Suken and Bret frequently informed candidates and helpers that people had used hairspray before, but did not suggest the idea…why mention it then?

  6. I’m hoping the day has come when Student Action would have to own up for all the garbage they pull off and no one holds them accountable for it. Too bad it’s 2 years too late.

  7. when i ran with sa, they definitely told us explicitly to use hair spray - that otherwise it wouldn’t last more that a day or two
