Cal Receives #7 Seed in March Madness
While failing to beat UCLA for the Pac-10 Championship, Cal played extraordinarily, beating an underrated Oregon squad in double overtime before falling to the Bruins in the final game.
This was good enough to get the Golden Bears a #7 seed in March Madness this year. We will be playing in the Atlanta region, with our first game against #10 seed North Carolina State (Friday 3/17, 7:20 PM, CBS). This game is very winnable for Cal - in fact, we beat the Wolfpack the last time we went to the NCAA tournament - but our most likely opponent for the second round is Texas, who is rated #2 in the region and #8 in the country. Advancement for the Golden Bears will be very difficult this year.
Another reason to celebrate: the Stanford Cardinal fail to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 11 years. Good luck in the NIT!

Pretty good seed, though NC State will be tough.

When we play Texas we can get revenge for our Rose Bowl Snub two years ago. Man, hope is intoxicating.
P.S. - Monmouth over Oral Roberts in the Finals!

We did play NC State in the NCAA tournament in the first round 3 years ago, beating them in overtime. Here’s an old recap. That was such an awesome game to watch.
