Berkeley Student Wins Around $300,000 in Book Contest

Associated Press says:

Reading has certainly enriched the life of U.C. Berkeley college student Jason Davis - by $280,000 in fact.

Davis won the prize in a nationwide treasure hunt with clues hidden inside a book.

The clues were devised to lead readers to 12 gold tokens hidden around the country. The tokens can be redeemed for expensive jewels shaped like the insect characters in the book…

Davis read the book, deciphered the clues and took a bus to Oklahoma where he discovered the Firefly token stuffed in a knothole in a tree.

Lucky bastard son-of-a-gun.
